A September afternoon, a beautiful backyard wedding at the end of a country road in Hernando, MS, and two people who are 100% committed to loving each other for life.
When I first walked up to the house where Raleah and her bridesmaids were getting ready, I was instantly in awe. Tall, white columns on the front porch, a balcony that stretched across the entire length of the house that hung over a wrap around front porch that was a southern dream come true. Complete with a perfectly groomed landscape that covered the entire property. As I walked through the big, double wooden doors of the house, the first thing I noticed was the elegant grand piano sitting at the bottom of the winding stairs that Raleah was walking down. As some of you may know, this radiant bride is very talented at playing the piano and every time I hear it, it sends me into a daydream.
I could listen for hours. So of course, I couldn't resist taking a couple photos of her playing the piano.
Raleah and Corey decided to have a first look before their wedding ceremony.
We originally planned to have a first look so that we could do the majority of photos before to ensure a more relaxed timeline of the day. But as I watched Raleah walk out and see her groom for the first time I knew it was something more than that. I watched the worry, the anxiousness, the stress of the day dissipate and fade from her face as their eyes met, and instantly saw a rush of calm and peace wash over her. They embraced and enjoyed their special moment together before they had to return to reality and the demands of the day.
Their ceremony was intimate, and as they stood together surrounded by their guest they exchanged vows and promises of love, growth, and togetherness, followed by a night of singing, dancing, and trampoline jumping. (Not gonna lie, I got right on up there with the wedding party. I think it was the first time in 10 years that I've been on a trampoline. Sure didn't think I'd kick off this wedding season with that, but how can you pass up a chance like this?!)
Witnessing this evening was a pleasure, but getting the chance to photograph it was even more heart stirring and fulfilling.
Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Bailey for giving me the privilege of being a part of your wedding. I hope that you can look back on these photos for years to come and use them to remember your special day!
